The company calls this evolution the Agentic Workforce, a model that envisions AI not as a tool but as a trusted collaborator capable of acting independently while staying accountable to human oversight.
The concept of an agentic workforce revolves around AI agents that can learn, reason, and execute tasks across departments, from analysing data to generating reports or automating workflows, all while staying aligned with company goals and compliance requirements. These agents aren’t replacing employees; they’re amplifying their capabilities by taking on repetitive, data-driven work. In this setup, humans focus on strategy and creativity, while AI handles the precision and scale.
Starburst’s new platform is built specifically to enable this partnership. It allows AI systems to come directly to the data instead of moving sensitive information into external environments. At the core of the platform lies Apache Iceberg, an open-source table format that provides a unified structure for managing large datasets efficiently. This interoperability makes it easier for organisations to build and scale AI applications safely.
The platform also includes advanced observability dashboards, giving teams visibility into how AI agents perform, where they pull data from, and what insights they generate.
