The Kenyan wealth-tech startup is building compliant bridges between traditional finance and blockchain innovation.

Kenyan wealth-tech startup Ndovu has been announced as the winner of the 2025 Base Founders Fellowship, a 10-day accelerator programme designed to spotlight emerging Web3 ventures across Africa. The recognition marks a significant milestone in the company’s transition from traditional fintech to blockchain-driven innovation.

Founded in 2022, Ndovu has quickly positioned itself as one of East Africa’s fastest-growing wealth-tech platforms, boasting over 200,000 users and a 37-times increase in assets under management since launch. The company’s pitch to the fellowship centred on its efforts to build a regulated tokenisation infrastructure ,one that bridges global capital with African investment opportunities through secure and transparent blockchain rails.

Ndovu’s co-founder and CEO, Radhika Bhachu, described the startup’s vision as addressing Africa’s financial inefficiencies. “Our markets are fragmented, illiquid, and inefficient,” she said. “We are building the bridge for global capital to move seamlessly into and out of Africa, leveraging Web3 infrastructure for fast, transparent, and compliant settlements.”

The Base Founders Fellowship, powered by the Base ecosystem, selects promising African Web3 founders working on practical, scalable blockchain solutions. Ndovu’s win stands out for its focus on regulation, market access, and user protection — themes that have become central to Africa’s maturing crypto economy.

By winning the fellowship, Ndovu gains access to mentorship, funding pathways, and a global network of partners aligned with Base’s Web3 infrastructure. The recognition also positions the company to scale its tokenisation and investment products across new markets.

Ndovu’s achievement reflects a broader shift in Africa’s tech landscape, where startups are moving from experimentation to execution, proving that blockchain can solve real financial challenges. Its win reinforces the continent’s growing reputation as a hub for regulated, utility-driven innovation in digital finance.

Ndovu’s recognition by the Base Founders Fellowship marks a milestone not just for the company, but for Africa’s Web3 narrative. It signals that the future of blockchain adoption on the continent lies in credible, compliant, and scalable products that deliver tangible financial inclusion.
