Zap Africa Rebrands and Upgrades Its Crypto Exchange

Date:

Zap Africa has unveiled a refreshed brand identity and Zap v2, a significantly improved iteration of its flagship Zap Exchange platform. The rebranding includes a bold new logo and an intuitive interface, marking a new phase for the product as it deepens its presence in Nigeria’s cryptocurrency ecosystem.

The platform’s evolution drove the decision to rebrand. Founded in 2023 to offer decentralised, non‑custodial trading, Zap’s original branding no longer reflected its maturity or future ambitions. The co-founders decided in April 2024 to reinvent the brand to align with the sophistication of the newly enhanced product.

Zap Exchange v2 introduces features designed for speed and control. Users now benefit from faster logins, saved wallet addresses, token-specific trade history, custom watchlists, and real‑time price alerts. The new interface delivers a “control‑room” style experience tailored to mobile-first crypto users in Nigeria.

Zap Africa positions itself as a proponent of trust in crypto infrastructure. Rooted in its non-custodial model, the platform empowers users with full control over their assets, reducing reliance on centralised intermediaries. The company’s commitment to compliance and governance further enhances its credibility in a fast-evolving regulatory landscape.

Although fintech giant Paystack launched its own “Zap” product, Zap Africa’s founders emphasise that the rebrand was part of a planned evolution, not a reaction to external pressure. The company initiated internal brand renewal long before the trademark dispute became public.

With this rebrand and platform upgrade, Zap Africa strengthens its infrastructure credentials in Africa’s competitive Web3 space. As trust, user autonomy, and polished design become key differentiators in crypto adoption, Zap is positioning itself for broader growth and market leadership.
